I now know. I have it all planned out. Thanks to this dear couple.
This past spring, my hubby and I celebrated our 10th wedding anniversary. Leading up to it, I dreamed about all the possible ways we could mark this special occasion. Taking into account that we moved this summer, switched jobs, and renovated our new house; we opted for something simple. And it was perfect.
An evening in Baltimore. Alone. Dinner at our favorite Greek restaurant. Dessert at our favorite place in Little Italy. Jim Gaffigan's standup to cap off the evening.
We got to chat. Uninterrupted. For hours! We got back to some of our favorite restaurants. It's been far too long. We relaxed. We reconnected. And we laughed. Whenever you're going through a renovation, an evening at a Jim Gaffigan concert is in order. We haven't laughed that hard in a long time. And it was nice to do it together.
Between the two of us, I am the planner. By far. But, I have to give credit to my hubby. He planned our anniversary evening and it was perfect.
I owe him one.
But I know how I'll repay him. For our 50th anniversary, thanks to this dear couple, I know just what we'll do. I told you I'm a planner!
We'll spend a long weekend at The Inn at Huntingfield Creek, and we'll invite our dear family and friends to join us. If we're lucky, we'll be surrounded by half as much love as I witnessed during my recent 50th anniversary shoot for this dear couple.
I enjoyed our phone calls leading up to our photography session. We discussed her vision for the shoot and why she hired me. We also talked about the celebration they had planned, and while we were newly friends and hadn't yet met, I was so truly happy for them. From her voice and her description, I knew this was the perfect way for them to mark 50 years.
They were relaxed, happy, and full of laughter.
Their friends and family were relaxed, happy, and full of laughter.
Love and laughter were all around.
I wish them many more years full of love and laughter.
